A really beautiful flower, this is a Yellow Wild Iris.

Joy Exhuberant

If plants were emotion, I think these flowers would be exuberant joy. I was walking from the client's the office in Melbourne when I passed these colourful flower boxes.

Berries And Droplets

After a rather dry summer the heavens have opened. It's been raining non stop for a few days now. I captured this image of some wild berries outside in our garden yesterday when the rain paused briefly.

After The Rains

I went to the supermarket to do some shopping after it had rained, and noticed these beautiful flowers still carrying some droplets on their brightly coloured petals. As with the previous post, these were also taken with my little Kodak before I got the Nikon, hence the chromatic aberration on some of the close up shots. Nice though in spite of that.

Delicate Beauty

Isn't it strange that while we are looking for beautiful places and beautiful things in nature, it is usually right in front of us, but is often missed and frequently overlooked. Pause for a moment, look down and focus on one small, seeming insignificant flower. Look closely, and discover delicate beauty, free to anyone who will appreciate it.

I have no idea what flower this is, but I do know that it is stunning!

When I have my macro lens I'll get better shots, but this will do for now :)

Burwood Rose

As you know by now I appreciate a beautiful flower, so I couldn't pass by these roses in Burwood Park this afternoon without taking pictures of them.

Floral Beauty

If you have been following my blog you would know by now that I find it very difficult to walk past a beautiful flower without taking a picture of it. Here are some that I took the other day on my lunch break in Brisbane. I just love the variety in shapes, colour and size. It's also interesting how one of these are categorised as a weed, but if you look closely one notices that it's beauty is on par with all the others. 

Yellow!

If this does not scream "Spring!" then I don't know what does. This beautiful tree is in the City Botanic Gardens in Brisbane.

Cabbage White

...that is the name of this little butterfly. I'm sure they could have thought of a nicer name, but there you have it. According to the Queensland Museum, this fellow is a pest of cruciferous crops such as cabbages, hence the name. Pest or not though, it's a beautiful little creature.

Natural Oxenford

Spring vs. Concrete

Even in a bustling city Nature's beauty is on display. This is a little peach tree in the full bloom of Spring, with the Brisbane Citigate Hotel in the background.

Nectar Seeker

The first signs that Spring is upon us! The flowers are blooming and the bees are taking full advantage. I was walking along Albert street in Brisbane when I saw a peach tree, beautifully backlit by the afternoon sun with bees buzzing around. I was lucky to capture the shadow of this little fellow through a flower petal just before he flew off to the next flower.

Remarkable Strelitzia

This is a truly unique flower and one of my favourites.
