Shake It Baby! YEA!

I posted a picture of this fellow earlier (here). Each time after he returned the ball to his owner he would shake off the annoying water, only to dive back into the sea again to fetch the ball the next time.

Strategies

These two playful dogs appeared to have different strategies in getting to the ball that their owner threw. The Labrador would start running even before the ball was thrown, jumping over the waves as best he could before swimming eagerly to get the ball. His friend however would take a more subdued approach, waiting for the ball to be retrieved from the deep water and then attempting to take it from his mate, sometimes attempting a swim. If we could display the same enthusiasm that they had the world would be a very different place.

This dog really enjoyed the day out on the dog beach, dutifully fetching his toy each time. Cute litte fellow.

Golf - African Style

I thought this was rather funny, although I think it would be less funny if you are about to hit a drive shot and you hear a dry twig breaking behind you. This is a golf course that was built for the staff of the Kruger National Park and is not open to the public. It is not fenced off at all, so you can see any number of animals walking about on a given day, including the Big 5.  I just love the views over the appropriately named Lake Panic, which is a man-made feature of the course.

For Sale

For Sale: a boat, a car and a...WHAT??

I was driving through Pimpama on the Gold Coast when I passed the Broken Spoke Saloon. I always thought it was just a bar where the locals met for a drink, but apparently they sell anything, including a hearse themed station wagon.

The Quiet Before The Storm

I got this shot about 30 minutes before the theme park opened. The roller coasters were quiet at this time, but soon the air would be filled with a storm of screams and laughter, provided the other storm didn't spoil the day.

The DNA of FUN

This is the Buzzsaw, a relatively new roller coaster attraction that opened in Dreamworld on 17 September 2011. I haven't gone on it yet, but will be going soon.

Ominous Warning

I snapped this interesting warning through a dirty train window on my way to the office in Sydney the other morning. I wanted to get a better shot a week later when I was there again, but the wall was repainted since.

Curiosity

I was walking in Burwood when I came across this gorgeous dog. So friendly and curious, with the tail wagging continuously and a frown that made everyone smile. The sounds my camera made were particularly interesting to her.
