A while ago I worked in Melbourne over two weeks so I could spend the weekend driving around to explore. On the Saturday I spent the day in the Dandenong Ranges east of the city. Driving back late that evening I travelled through Coldstream and was treated to the most spectacular sunset, with the silhouette of the lovely gum trees and some lone cattle grazing on the horizon.

Outback Driveby
I drove on the M1 Freeway tonight and was happy to be a passenger and not the driver, affording me the opportunity to snap a few pictures of a lovely sunset. This one has the Australian Outback Spectacular venue in the foreground. I would have preferred to set up the tripod to get a sharper image, but was happy with this shot given that it was taken while driving.

Scrimshaw
This is the Scrimshaw vessel basking in the golden rays of the late afternoon sun. It was moored in the Brisbane River alongside the mangrove trees next to the Queensland University of Technology, and I stood on the opposite side of the river at Southbank. I just love the atmosphere that the golden rays give this picture.

Two Thirds Gold
This is one of the views I had from the Eureka Observation Deck. The building has some interesting angles - here I was looking out of one window towards two other window panes window reflecting the sunset behind me, and the sea beyond.

Sunset Over Darling Harbour
Earlier this year I had the opportunity to do some work for Lend Lease in Sydney. As the day was drawing to a close I heard someone mention what a stunning sunset there was, and when I looked up I was greeted by the most spectacular colours of gold and yellow and blue. I ran up to the highest floor and took this picture from the office window.

Sunset in the Okavango
Few places are as beautiful and simply magical as the untouched areas in Africa. This picture was taken by Sam van Niekerk while on a fishing trip in the Okavango. This is an excellent picture and one that I'm proud to add to my "Guest Photographers" section. Not only did he capture an amazing sunset, but also captured the atmosphere and spirit of Africa.

A Fiery Reflection
This is the building of the ANZ Bank in Bundall on the Gold Coast in Queensland. I had just finished work at the Gold Coast City Council when I walked out and was greeted by this view.

Day Fading
The last few rays of the setting sun caught the Story Bridge and the cliffs at Kangaroo Point yesterday afternoon as I was walking towards the train station to go home.

Reflections of a Surfers Paradise Sunset
This was the view that greeted me after I finished work at the Gold Coast City Council the other day. The beautiful sunset behind me was reflected off the buildings at Surfer's Paradise, the playground of Australia. The Pacific ocean is just on the other side of the buildings.

Sunset at Cove Park
We took a stroll around the Cove Park lake a while back and enjoyed a lovely evening with a quiet, but beautiful sunset.
