Sunset Grazing

A while ago I worked in Melbourne over two weeks so I could spend the weekend driving around to explore.  On the Saturday I spent the day in the Dandenong Ranges east of the city. Driving back late that evening I travelled through Coldstream and was treated to the most spectacular sunset, with the silhouette of the lovely gum trees and some lone cattle grazing on the horizon.

The Mornington Peninsula

I would like to take the credit for these pictures but unfortunately I can't. They were taken by my daughter, Mart-Mari, whilst on a visit to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. As you no doubt would agree, they are pretty impressive and a good addition to this blog.

Clear Instructions...

In May 2008 my wife and I took a trip to North-East Melbourne, through Eltham and then turning East towards Kangaroo Ground. Along the way there were many "honesty" farm stalls where you could pick out what you wanted and then just leave the money in a box, something that is fairly common in Australia. This one had clear instructions, in case you missed the point...

Visiting the Dandenongs

Early one March morning in 2008 I took my son on a day trip to the Dandenong Mountains just east of Melbourne, Victoria. It was a crisp, cool morning, with clear skies and clean air. We left the house just as the sun started to rise and explored a very beautiful part of Victoria.

We travelled east along Burwood Highway, turned right onto the C412 then right again on the winding Selby-Aura Road. Old Menzies-Creek Rd then took us all the way to the Cardinia Reservoir where we stopped a while at Henley Park.
